TBRC is comprised of a Board of Directors, a professional and volunteer staff and a group of scholarly advisors and collaborators. TBRC Board of DirectorsThe Board of Directors of TBRC is comprised of Tibetan lineage holders, patrons, translators and business executives interested in realizing the mission of TBRC. Staff and VolunteersTBRC has a small focused team of professionals and volunteers to support its archiving and research. TBRC Scholarly Advisors and CollaboratorsTBRC is currently actively engaged in scholarly classification and research on three major projects. Buddhist Canons projectTBRC has currently digitized or holds digitized images of the following canonical collections. The Kangyur (the pronouncements of the Buddha in his manifestations): TBRC holds digitized images of the Stog Palace manuscript, the Derge Parphud, the Narthang blockprints, the Derge Post-Parphud blockprints, the Lhasa blockprints, and the Urga blockprints. We hold digitized images of the Derge Do Ngedon collection carved in the 40s. We hope to add in the near future digital images of the Choni. We are still seeking copies of the Beijing editions, the Jang Satham (Lithang), the 18th century Chamdo, the late 19th-early 20th century Rajya, and the 20th century Wara. We have only a single piece of the Takten Phuntsoling Do Ngedon collection and are actively pursuing the other portions. The Tengyur (commentaries on the shastra by Indic authors): TBRC holds digitized images of the Beijing Gold manuscript, the prints of the blocks of the Derge, Narthang, and Choni. We are still seeking prints from the Beijing carvings and the special collections. The Nyingma tantras: TBRC holds digital images of the Tingkye Gonpa Jang and Tsamdrag manuscripts and the Derge blockprints. We also have digital files of the Bairo Gyubum (Jangtang) and several printings of the Gyu Chubdun. Outlining is proceeding slowly but we are hopeful that we can provide internet access to the texts in the next year. Chojor Radha and Paldor have been working on outlines of various redactions of the Kangyur and Tengyur. We have assisted the Bon Foundation and Menri Monastery to complete the digitization and issuance of the Bon Kangyur and Bon Katen. These are available by contacting the Bon Foundation of America (MarilynEar@aol.com) Classical Medicine ProjectBecause of the phenomenal growth of interest in Indo-Tibetan medicine, TBRC over the past 4 years has been scanning and including its blockprints, reprints, and manuscripts and including these images on its digital collections. TBRC has been collecting the new series from China like the Arura published by the People's Publishing House in Beijing. We have produced outlines of the important titles in these series to help those with these copyright materials to find in their volumes chapter references. New publications from India which are of great importance include the new titles in the Smanrtsis Shesrig Spendzod series. Dr. Tashi Yangphel Tashigang and his son Dr. Tsering P. Tashigang, Dr. Yonten Gyatso , and a few other friends have agreed to collaborate with us in the medicine project. Nyingma Terma ProjectA few years ago TBRC launched a collaboration with friends to produce outlines of important works of the Nyingma studies. Jann Ronis during a year as Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation scholar in residence produced SML outlines of the terma revelations of the Kathog tradition. Holly Gayley produced a study of the terma revelations of Pema Lingpa. |
